‘Throughout everyone’s life there are good times and not so good times.
We are here to provide you with a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment in which you can explore current difficulties in light of past experiences and future possibilities. This, we believe, is the essence of psychotherapy and counselling.
Our therapists and counsellors recognise that you are totally unique. The therapeutic experience is therefore a collaborative time of mutual exploration, in which your therapist or counsellor will neither provide answers, nor offer advice, but will be a partner to guide you through these difficult or problematic times. Having built trust and understanding with you, your therapist or counsellor can then offer reflections and interpretations of issues that arise.
During this process, your self-understanding will increase and together with your psychotherapist or counsellor you can explore solutions. By this means, healing can take place, recognition of your potentialities and self-confidence will increase, relational interactions will improve, and most important of all you will feel so much better.
For many people considering psychotherapy or counselling, there is little or no framework from which to make the choice of a therapist or type of therapy. Finding a suitable therapist may therefore be a difficult task, and we believe that someone seeking psychotherapeutic help needs guidance in this important decision.
The Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre (CPC) incorporating the North West London (NWLPC) was established in 1984 and is made up of a group of experienced and highly qualified psychotherapists and counsellors. Unlike some organisations, our Psychotherapists and Counsellors work from different locations, are from different schools of psychotherapy and offer a variety of approaches. This is because, as a unique individual, one therapeutic approach may be more suitable than others for you.
We suggest, that you attend an initial assessment session with a senior therapist. During your initial consultation you will have the opportunity to discuss the issues you are facing, and the frequency and form of therapy that will best address your individual needs. You can ask any questions you have about the process and practice of being in therapy, and decide whether individual, couple or group therapy is most suitable for you.
Therapies include: Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic, Existential, Integrative, Hypnotherapy, Arts Therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transpersonal, Person Centred, Gestalt, Body Therapy, Group Workshops, Mindfulness, Coaching & Team Building. More
Our Psychotherapists and Counsellors work in their own consulting rooms in different locations.
We offer both Long & Short-term Counselling and Psychotherapy, to Individuals, Couples, Families, Groups & Organisations
Diversity is important to us: All our therapists are sensitive to issues of (Ethnic origin) or Race, Disability, Gender and Sexuality.
